Remembering a Memory..

Chinese has always been a favorite food of mine.  Lo Mein is my all time favorite!! I try to at least eat Chinese twice a week. Not only did I learn that Chinese is good but it’s also good for your complexion and healthy for you. I also like the fortune cookies they give you for dessert! Which I don’t think it’s really a dessert but it looks a lot healthier then something I would choose. I’ve tried to cook Chinese once but it did not turn out like I wanted it to. It seems to always be better at the restaurant. The frozen things at Wal-Mart always stink! Chinese is not good frozen and then re-heated!
The Chinese place I used to go to in town, shut down, but thankfully we have three Chinese restaurants. I like to go to just one specific Chinese place. I don’t like change much, so after the one I went to shut down, I had to try the other two places out. I found one that was almost like the one I went to but not quite as good. When I walk in the restaurant everyone is so nice; however, I can hardly ever understand what they are saying. I always wondered why they had good skin but then found out its cause their food is so healthy. After I finally get use to this place though… It closes!!!!
So unfortunately I have to go to the one that’s my least favorite. When I go to school I go to a Chinese place down there. Where I was eating twice a week, I very rarely eat it once a week unless I’m in school. After my favorite Chinese place closed in my town, it just has not been the same. My friends and I had a lot of memories in that restaurant. Not only was the food good but the appearance and atmosphere of the store was really nice.  So mainly I wish the old Chinese place would come back to my town!

How Healthy was Your Dinner?

Last night for dinner I ate:

· Steak, which was extremely amazing. My dad likes to marinate them in butter and garlic stuff before putting them in the pan.
· Salad. The salad contained all different lettuces, which was different but i like to try some new things every once in awhile.
· Garlic Bread, which consists of bread, garlic, and butter!
My mother and father both were raised in the south. Both of their parents are real big on organic food and homegrown vegetables; however, we hardly ever eat healthy anymore. Frozen vegetables seem to cook faster than the homegrown vegetables. Eating healthy comes to be a high price in today’s economy. Grocery stores like to raise the prices higher because of the low quantity they have. This makes it hard for people to stay home and eat healthy because of prices. I think prices should be lowered on any groceries period. I think obesity rates would lower if some things were taken into action; however, I think some people like to ignore what’s actually happening to them while eating fast food.

Fast food has never been a big thing with my family. My mom and dad both like to cook at home more than going to get something quick. Fast food has so many unhealthy ingredients. It seems like they cook with a lot more grease then average people do at home. Every now and then we will all go out and get Mexican or Chinese but McDonald's is out of the question. I tend to sneak by one every now and then after school but very rarely do I consume it all. My parent’s don’t always cook the healthiest ways but I think cooking at home is always ten times better than going out. Don’t get me wrong, every now and then I like to eat things that make me feel ten times fatter, but I also like to eat as healthy as possible to keep my figure in shape.
